Driveway caulking in Omaha

Open control joints and hairline cracks are how Omaha winters wreck a slab. Meltwater gets in. Ice expands. The edge scales off and you are looking at replacement instead of a silicone bead.

Most concrete gets gray silicone with a sand finish. It is UV-stable and made for slabs — not the polyurethane a lot of Omaha quotes still specify. Poly shrinks in the sun. Two or three summers and the bead has pulled off the joint. Silicone stays flexible.

We do not pour self-leveling. That product is thin so it looks easy. It does not bond the way a hand-tooled bead does. Every joint gets tooled below the surface and sand-finished so it stays in the crack, not smeared on top.

Need it to disappear on brick, stamped, or colored concrete? We color-match. Gray sanded is the default on a normal driveway because that is what blends.

How the joint is prepped

Cracks get a diamond blade so the opening can actually hold silicone. Control joints get a wire wheel to pull dirt and old material. Old foam gets pulled or buzzed down. Backer rod goes in where the joint is deep. Then a backpack blower before the gun comes out. Clean joint, tooled bead, sand finish.

Full-job caulking carries a 10-year workmanship warranty against adhesive failure and shrink. Single-crack touch-ups do not.
