We use 100% UV-stable silicone made for concrete. Polyurethane and most hybrids shrink in the sun. Two or three Nebraska summers and the bead has pulled off the joint. Silicone stays flexible.

Self-leveling is thin so it pours itself. It also sits instead of bonding the way a hand-tooled bead does. We tool every joint so the angle is right and the silicone grabs both sides.

Cracks get a diamond blade so the opening can hold a bead — not a smear on top. Control joints get a wire wheel. Old expansion-joint foam comes out or gets buzzed down. Weeds and dirt go with it. Backer rod goes in where the joint is deep enough to need it. Then a backpack blower before the gun comes out.

Most broom-finish driveways get gray silicone with a sand finish. Brick, stamped, and colored concrete can be color-matched so the bead disappears.

Sometimes street-creep is real. A lot of the time a first quote is selling a saw-cut you did not ask for. We quote the work you asked for. If you want an opinion on what else the slab needs, ask. Otherwise we leave it.

Normal gray driveways get a silane penetrating spray — no color change, rated up to 10 years. Decorative concrete gets roll-on acrylic so the color comes out. There is no lifetime sealer.

Caulk: next morning. Some crews send you over it the same afternoon. We wait overnight because the bead is under a 10-year warranty. Sealer: about six hours, weather permitting. You get the exact window before we leave.

Any dry day above freezing. Winter is fine if the slab is dry. We will not gun a wet joint or a frozen one.

Caulking only: usually one day. Wash + caulk + seal, or sealer by itself: two days. Day one is wash and prep. Day two is caulk and seal. The slab has to dry.

Silane can go on after a few days and does not fight the cure. Caulk wants a month on paper. In practice a couple of weeks is usually enough if the joints have stopped weeping. We’ll tell you if yours is still too green.
